April Clinic

Today’s clinic was a little different. Since we are in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, clinic was held via video conference. Obviously that meant no lung function test, no strength and range of motion tests, etc. Basically we just went over how everything is going and if I felt there had been any significant changes. Dr. Berry was happy to hear that I got the stair lift installed and took delivery of the power wheelchair. And he was definitely right that both of those things have helped me greatly.

I don’t feel like there have been any huge changes. I’m having a little more trouble with my right arm but nothing major. I’ve had fewer falls thanks to the stair lift. I made need an adjustment on my BiPap, but I’ll talk to the respiratory therapist about that during our next appointment. The muscle cramps and spasticity are still annoying but managed well by the meds. I only lost 2 pounds. Paige, the speech and language pathologist, said that wasn’t bad but she wants me to keep up my calorie intake so I don’t lose more. Basically she gave me permission to eat cookies, so, you know, doctor’s orders.

My next appointment is scheduled for July. Right now I’m scheduled to go in to Boston, but I guess we’ll have to see what’s happening with the pandemic. Fun times.
