Worth the Wait!

Last summer, Aaron and our friends Bender and Eric started messing around playing some music together, and before we knew it they formed a band. We and the Benders would switch off hosting duties each weekend and we’d spend our days lounging by our respective pools for a few hours before the guys would disappear into the garage or wherever to practice. Soon after, Aaron started telling them about my cousin-in-law Mike, who is an amazing drummer and guitarist. Mike and my cousin Lauren live in Maine, and soon the guys were texting each other all the time geeking out about all things music and talking about when they could all get together in the same room to jam. Mike hadn’t been to Massachusetts since the pandemic hit but once he got vaccinated the plan was put in motion to get them down here from Maine so the boys could finally get their groove on. It was worth the wait! Lauren and Mike and their oldest daughter Emily visited us this weekend and the magic finally happened.

The guys played for hours over the course of 2 days in our garage and it was pretty epic. It was a cold weekend and it poured most of the time, but we opened the garage doors, put a tent in the driveway, and enjoyed the show. And more importantly, our neighbors enjoyed the show and no cops were called for a disturbing the peace complaint! This is the only picture I got because in all the excitement of seeing my cousins I spaced out on taking pictures, but Lauren, Mike, and both their daughters are heading back to see us in a week and a half and they’re staying for FIVE DAYS! So you can bet I will be getting some great shots that week.
