I turned 49(!) yesterday. For my birthday last year, my friends and I went to see a kick-ass band at a local casino. We had an amazing time, but we were woefully unaware that just one week later the world would shut down. We had no idea that we wouldn’t get to gather again as a group for an entire trip around the sun. It has a been a long, strange year. Going out and seeing band wasn’t an option this year. So we brought the party home. I had a few of my besties over and we drank the wine, sang the songs, attacked the pinata, and drank some more of the wine. A great time was had by all (even my dog Callie, who wouldn’t quit bugging me until I put my birthday crown on her…such a diva!), and I was just happy to be with people I love…with people in general, but especially people I love. The world is starting to open up again and we are all so hopeful that we can enjoy some of the things we’ve missed over this last year: concerts, Red Sox games, live music at restaurants, traveling… We are going to make it a great summer!
