The pandemic has been looming over us since March. The end of spring and start of summer were very restricted and we couldn’t do much of anything beyond our houses and neighborhoods. Though I will say that my neighborhood is the best, and we rocked the socially distanced driveway fire pits for months, which at least gave us some human contact.
In early July my cousins were supposed to come down from Maine and we were going to have a party for my cousin Mike’s birthday. Days before they were due to arrive, however, Maine still hadn’t lifted its restriction on travel to Massachusetts so we ended up having to cancel. Two weeks later, they were supposed to be back because we had planned a cousins’ concert weekend and had bought tickets to see Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams. Alas, concerts were still off the table. But Maine did lift the travel restriction the second week of July and so my cousins came down to visit and we spent an amazing weekend blasting Bryan Adams and Bon Jovi music, sitting by the pool. and partaking in some adult beverages. There is nothing better than cousin time!
