Today was a big day. I got a stair lift installed from our foyer up to the second floor where our bedroom is. Stairs have been the bane of my existence for a while. I’ve had more falls on stairs than anywhere and since I prefer to sleep in my bedroom rather than on the couch downstairs, I needed a safe way to navigate the stairs. Usually I have some pretty strong feelings around any loss of independence or new gadget I need to walk or function in a reasonable way, but this one I was happy about. I can now go up and down to my bedroom and office without the fear of falling and breaking a bone or landing on my face.
