So This Happened…

Scratch another one off my bucket list! Actually, this may scratch off a couple. Back in April I wrote about my adventures in getting tickets to NKOTB. After a misstep or two, I managed to get tickets for my cousins Lauren and Kerri, my friend Cheryl, and myself. Last night we headed into Boston for the show. I’ve seen New Kids before. A number of times, in fact. And they never, ever disappoint. Last night was no exception, and in fact, it may well have surpassed any concert I’ve ever been to ever in the history of ever.

The concert was amazing. All of the bands who performed were fantastic and we spent the night singing along and going particularly crazy when the the Boys from Boston took the stage. To have my cousins and my friend there made it such a perfect night. We made tons of memories, took loads of pictures, and got lost in the magic of it all. I had picked first row tickets in the Loge section so I’d have a little more room and I wouldn’t have to worry about not being able to stand too much during the show. Boy was that the right choice. I knew from previous NKOTB shows that at some point during the evening they leave the main stage and go to second stage toward the back of the venue. What I didn’t know that on this particular night, they would also be making their way down the aisles and into the crowd to sing a couple of songs. So as we sat there watching them wind their way down, imagine my surprise when Joey stopped in front of me and started to climb. I instinctively stuck out my right hand and…see the bottom-right picture below? Yeah, that’s Joey grabbing my hand to steady himself as he stepped up.

Um. Swoon.

The picture below that is him standing ON MY ARMREST and singing “Tonight.” And if you wanna see it live and up close? Watch the video. My cousin Kerri managed to tape it as he took my hand (that’s her yelling “Oh My God,” right before the video ends).

Yup. It was a good night.
